Why We Fail

 

Unless you are a robot then you have likely failed at something that you really, truly wanted to do. At least you thought you wanted to do it.

 

If you think ‘I want to loose 50 pounds’ that thought comes from your conscious mind. Your conscious mind only controls about 5% of your actions. The rest of your actions and reactions are dictated by your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is, in my opinion, the most powerful thing on our planet.

 

Think about how much it does for you. When you are in a hot room you do not consciously think ‘Gee, my body temperature is rising. I think I should start sweating so that my body temperature will be lowered.’ Your subconscious mind does that for you. The subconscious mind’s JOB is homeostasis. That means to keep things the same. It works to keep your temperature within a very narrow range. In other words it tries to keep it the same at all times. No matter how hard you try you cannot stop yourself from sweating when your body temperature goes up.

 

The same thing is true when you try to quit smoking, loose weight or reach a certain level of income.

 

Your Subconscious Mind Sabotages You!

 

If your subconscious mind believes that there is a reason that you should remain overweight or continue smoking then YOU WILL NOT SUCCEED in your attempt to quit smoking or loose weight or whatever other goals you have.

 

At least you won’t succeed until you convince your subconscious mind that it is OK to do so.
